“Last weekend, the BENETEAU First 18 SE & Seascape18 fleet gathered in Portorož, Slovenia, for the traditional Slovenian Open National Championship. The regatta was organised by Yachting club Portorož in always welcoming Sailing Center Portorož. Adriatic summer attracted 21 teams from Austria, Slovakia, Serbia, and Slovenia. Competitors were rewarded with superb weather conditions with SE to W winds between 10 and 15 knots, and Race Office managed to realize an entire racing program with eight races, which were very tight. A big majority of the fleet finished within 1 or 2 minutes, and regatta weekend delivered action and close fights on the race course. Finally, the podium was dominated by three Slovenian teams – first was Blue Sardina II (Dejan Presen, Dénes Szilágyi), second Corna (Peter Podunavac, Davorin Vuga), and third Little Devil (Blaž Kmetec, Jure Jerkovič, Robert Zajc). Complete results can be found on the Class web page, where you can also register for the following regatta, Porta Cup, in 2 weeks.”
